Kashima Shrine Hono Enbu

June 12, 1994

This demonstration is held each June in celebration of the anniversary of the birth of Tsukahara Bokuden, sword saint, and founder of Kashima Shinto-ryu. The demonstration in 1994 commemorated his 505th birthday. Fourteen classical traditions participated in the event, held in the shrine at Kashima, which has long been linked to Bokuden and his Kashima Shinto-ryu.
